“Share the Love, Give with Joy”: Menumbuhkan Empati Sejak Dini Melalui Kegiatan Community Service

As part of the Community Service programme for Nursery 1 to Year 1 students, Inspirasi Schools organised a visit to the UPT Child Protection and Social Services Centre, managed by the Sidoarjo Social Services Department. This activity took place on 2 May 2025 to celebrate National Education Day and became a real example of character education and human values for young learners.

With the theme “Share the Love, Give with Joy,” the activity involved the whole school community — students, parents, teachers, and staff. Students and their families actively took part by donating baby and children’s needs, such as milk, diapers, clothes, and toiletries. Some of the donations also came from the profits of the children’s Market Week, which had been held earlier at school.

After all donations were collected, the teachers and staff worked together to sort and pack the items. These well-organised donations were then delivered directly to the centre by 15 teacher and staff representatives. This donation delivery was not only a sign of care, but also a way for Inspirasi Schools to support important social institutions in the community.

Although the students did not join the visit to the centre, they still played an important role in the whole process. In their classrooms, they joined discussions, picture stories, and simple reflection activities. The teachers guided the children to understand the meaning of giving, sharing, and helping others. The students learned that love is not only shown through words, but also through real actions.

This Community Service event was a very valuable learning moment for students at Inspirasi Schools. It was more than just a donation activity — it was part of deep character education. It helped children learn how to care, be responsible, and show empathy to others.

We hope that programmes like this can continue and become a regular part of our learning journey. At Inspirasi Schools, we believe that when children learn to care from an early age, they grow into kind-hearted, considerate, and socially responsible individuals.
