Merdeka!

It has been eighty years since Indonesia gained its independence. The number 80, formed from two connected circles, symbolises harmony and unbroken cooperation — a hope that the partnership between school, teachers, parents, and students will continue. This spirit became the soul of this year’s Independence Day celebration at Inspirasi Schools @ The Jivana Homes, where the whole school community, including parents, took part with great enthusiasm.

The celebration began on Friday, 15 August 2025, with a flag-raising ceremony joined by teachers and students from classes N1 to Y2. After the ceremony, the children listened to stories about Indonesia’s journey to independence and the traditions of celebrating 17 August. The event ended with everyone singing national songs to grow their love for the country, while waving the red-and-white flag with bright smiles and cheerful energy.

The highlight of the celebration took place on Friday, 22 August 2025, with a friendly competition between Houses. As the Home of The Tigers, Inspirasi Schools has four Houses: Sumatran Tiger, Javanese Tiger, Balinese Tiger, and Malayan Tiger.

This year was very special because, for the first time, all four Houses competed for the rotating trophy. The event not only built sportsmanship but also strengthened the bond between students, teachers, and parents.

The day started with an energetic Zumba session at the Goal Zone, followed by a Fun Walk that became even more exciting with students and parents wearing costumes inspired by Independence Day. A panel of judges then chose the best costumes to appreciate their creativity and enthusiasm.

Not stopping there, the parents also showed their teamwork and creativity through a competition of decorating nasi tumpeng with an Independence theme. At the same time, in the Handojo Santosa Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH), students participated in many fun games such as flag picking, ball sorting, bowling, marble race, and more. Laughter, cheers, and support from each House made the atmosphere lively and joyful.

The whole event closed with everyone enjoying nasi tumpeng together and the announcement of the overall winners. This year, the Sumatran Tiger House came out as the grand champion. The rotating trophy was proudly handed over to the winning House by the Principal of Inspirasi Schools, Ms. Bibie Nariswari, S.S., M.Pd.

The Independence Day celebration was truly full of happiness and spirit, decorated with smiles and laughter all day long. With the fire of independence shining bright, let us continue to build a united and strong Indonesia. See you at the next celebration!
