The Connection Between SIS and Inspirasi Group of Schools

The primary connection between the SIS (Singapore Intercultural Schools) and the Inspirasi Group of Schools lies in their shared mission: to make quality education both affordable and accessible to diverse communities. Both SIS and Inspirasi were founded by Jaspal Sidhu, a visionary educator and entrepreneur.

Jaspal’s journey is deeply rooted in his humble beginnings as the son of a doorman in Singapore. Having worked extensively across Indonesia, Jaspal recognized the urgent need for quality education in the archipelago. Drawing inspiration from Singapore’s world-class education system and his alma mater, “Raffles Institution” which is also the alma mater of Singapore’s first Prime Minister, Lee Kuan Yew. Jaspal established the first SIS school in 1996 in South Jakarta.

SIS quickly gained recognition for its strong governance, high standards, and outstanding results, which even drew the support of the World Bank. This support fueled the expansion of SIS Schools across Indonesia and other countries. While SIS focuses on establishing schools in the capitals and major urban centers of developing countries, the Inspirasi Group of Schools extends the same world-class programs to emerging cities, smaller towns, and districts (Kabupaten).

Inspirasi schools operate under an innovative Half-Fees model, a transformative approach that reduces fees without compromising on quality. This model has allowed Inspirasi to provide high-quality education to communities that might otherwise lack access to it.
